Approval and coverage
- CE mark
- NanoKnife has long been CE-marked for soft-tissue ablation. In February 2026 AngioDynamics expanded its European indications to tumours of the liver, kidney, pancreas and prostate, including intermediate-risk prostate cancer.
- OPS procedure code
- Germany introduced procedure codes for IRE in 2014, including one for the prostate (OPS 5-601.8), so hospitals can bill the treatment. Coverage by statutory and private insurers still varies, and many patients pay privately.
